RALEIGH, N.C. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Raleigh-based Red Truck Films once again played host to celebrity talent, working with John Travolta and Robin Williams to co-produce TV promos for Walt Disney Pictures’ “Old Dogs,” in theaters Nov. 25.
To shoot the spots, Disney and Los Angeles’ Soapbox Films needed to accommodate Williams’ sold-out, 35-city comedy tour. They tapped Red Truck Films to co-produce the promos because of the company’s national reputation, its crew experienced in working with celebrity talent, and a large, fully equipped sound stage. The location worked well for Williams, who had an Oct. 14 performance in nearby Durham.
“North Carolina has a strong track record in the film and entertainment industry, and we’re pleased we can offer our services, talent and equipment for this type of project,” said executive producer Cathy Wilson of Red Truck Films, N.C.’s only AICP production company.
Wilson engaged line producer, Graham Redmond, whose previous promo experience includes “30 Rock,” “Lipstick Jungle” and “Monday Night Football.” Many of the crew had worked with both Travolta and Williams on previous feature work shot in North Carolina.
Soapbox Films co-produced the promos with producers Kris Eber and Michele Bornheim, director Chris Alender and DP Adam Biggs.
Trailblazer Studios, represented by Katye Rone at katye@trailblazerstudios.com, provided both of its sound stages and other facility rooms to accommodate the crew and equipment needed to host celebrity talent, Disney and multiple networks in attendance.
From the director of “Wild Hogs,” Walt Becker, “Old Dogs” is a family comedy about two best friends – one unlucky-in-love divorcee (Williams) and the other a fun-loving bachelor (Travolta) – who have their lives turned upside down when they’re unexpectedly charged with the care of six-year-old twins while on the verge of the biggest business deal of their lives.
With a roster of award-winning directors based throughout the country, Red Truck Films, represented by Trailblazer Studios, produces spot work and non-traditional content, on location anywhere or on one of its two sound stages.
