Harris Corporation Acquires Patriot Technologies; Expands Presence in Integrated Healthcare Information Solutions for the Federal Market
WASHINGTON and KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has acquired privately held Patriot Technologies, LLC - expanding its position as a leading provider of integrated, interoperable healthcare information technology solutions for the federal government market.
Patriot, which has about 100 employees, is a leading provider of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare IT, imaging, and enterprise software solutions. Harris is a leader in federal healthcare information systems integration, imaging and digital content management solutions supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Federal Health Architecture.
The acquisition further extends Harris Corporation's presence in the rapidly expanding $3.4 billion federal government healthcare IT market. The move positions the company to provide comprehensive interoperability solutions that address the national priority of VA and Military Health System enterprise integration.
