MISSOULA, Mont. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Continuing to demonstrate their commitment to giving back to local Montana communities, Cellular One recently presented donation checks in the amount of $4,600 to 16 Montana schools who received funds through the School Donation Program. This program offers all Cellular One customers the opportunity to donate 3% of their monthly cell phone bill to a Montana school of their choice. Montana schools that received donations for the 3rd quarter include Billings West High School, Skyview High School, Twin Bridges High School, Choteau 7-12, CM Russell High School, Lincoln Elementary, Loy Elementary, Whittier Elementary, Fort Shaw Elementary, Great Falls High School, Simms High School, Fairfield High School, Capital High School, Hillcrest School, Flathead High School, and Helena Flats Elementary School.
The Cellular One School Rebate Program allows Montana schools to raise much-needed funds at no cost to the schools or to the participants. Any Cellular One customer may decide to participate by simply selecting a school of their choice. Cellular One then donates 3% of that customer’s monthly service fee to the school on a quarterly basis to be used at the school’s discretion.
Principal Ryan Hart accepted the check on behalf of Whittier Elementary in Great Falls. Hart noted, “Donations from the Cellular One School Rebate Program will go towards funding special incentives and prizes during events such as Red Ribbon Week and Bully Prevention Week. We purchase things such as treats, pencils, pencil bags, and erasers in order to help make these weeks stand out.”
Ann Minkler, Superintendent of Helena Flats School in Kalispell shared that, “initially the funds raised through the Cellular One School Donation Program will be used to pay for field trips, referees, and other things that support the students. Eventually, I am hoping that we can set enough aside to be able to purchase technology such as wireless slates and/or flip cams for teachers’ use in the classroom.”
“We are committed to giving back to the state of Montana in any way that we can,” stated Jonathan Foxman, President and CEO of Cellular One. He added, “We understand how vital corporate funding is for our nation’s schools and for the education of our children. The Cellular One School Donation Program provides an opportunity for our customers to put their hard earned dollars right back into their own local communities by allowing them to select a school of their choice.”
Cellular One customers can sign up to participate in the School Donation Program at any time by visiting the Cellular One website, a local retail store, or an authorized dealer location. This program is offered exclusively through Cellular One. Schools are also encouraged to reach out to Cellular One to discuss additional ways that they can participate in the program and begin receiving funds on behalf of Cellular One customers.
