Stampede and Global Protocols Announce OEM Agreement

DAYTON, Ohio -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Stampede^® Technologies, Inc. (www.stampede.com), a leading provider of WAN optimization and acceleration solutions for satellite and terrestrial-based networks, announced it has signed an OEM agreement with Global Protocols, Inc. (GPI) for integrating SkipWare onto its FX Series appliances designed to accelerate and optimize satellite communications for IP traffic. Stampede will include SkipWare on the FX 1000, FX 2000 and FX 4000 Series of WAN Optimization appliances to help military organizations achieve greater application performance across mission-critical satellite networks, while maintaining Space Communication Protocol Standards (SCPS-TP) interoperability. With SkipWare integrated into the FX Series appliances from Stampede, government agencies will have faster and more secure delivery of mission-critical information needed to do their job from any remote location.

Military satellite communications are subjected to a harsh array of environmental and operational conditions that can drastically impair the performance of the network. While satellites enable mobility and communications in remote locations, bandwidth efficiency and throughput is reduced by link latency, weather effects, interference, blockage, and TCP and application protocol inefficiencies that can jeopardize operations. SCPS-TP is a protocol solution that military organizations throughout the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) rely on. Global Protocols' SkipWare is an SCPS-TP implementation that has become the “defacto standard” transport protocol for military satellite communications.
