Balfour Beatty Communities Wins Four Customer Service Awards at the National PHMA Conference

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Balfour Beatty Communities, LLC, one of the leading Public-Private Partnership (PPP or P3) providers of housing, lifestyle and community solutions for members of the U.S. military and their families, has been awarded four customer service awards by the Professional Housing Management Association.

Balfour Beatty Communities received recognition in both the Outstanding Housing Installation Team – Privatized Locations, and Outstanding Housing/Billeting Employee categories. All winners were recognized at the PHMA/MHLI Professional Development Seminar XXII, held at the Westin Peachtree Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, February 1-5, 2010.

On Tuesday, February 2, three teams were recognized for their achievements with PHMA Outstanding Housing Installation Team – Privatized Locations Awards:

1. Fort Detrick and Walter Reed Army Medical Center, in Wheaton and Frederick, Maryland – Army

2. NSU Saratoga Springs, Saratoga Springs, New York – Navy

3. Vandenberg Air Force Base, Lompoc, California – Air Force

The Outstanding Housing Installation Team – Privatized Locations is awarded to installation teams (defined as having both federal and contractor/partner groups) who can demonstrate their collective achievements of an outstanding living environment for military members and/or their families.

In addition, Michael McGowan from Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, New Jersey, took home PHMA’s U.S. Army Outstanding Housing/Billeting Employee Award. He was formally recognized at the Joint Services Award Luncheon held on Wednesday, February 3. The Outstanding Housing/Billeting Employee Award goes to any member of an organization which is engaged in directing or managing housing, housing support, and oversight functions. This includes all personnel supporting the housing of Service members.
