SALT LAKE CITY, UT -- (Marketwire) -- 02/09/11 -- Teleperformance, the world's leading provider of outsourced CRM and contact center services, is pleased to announce that ground has been broken for the Gawad Kalinga Teleperformance Village in Tanay, Rizal, in the Philippines.

When massive flooding in the Philippines caused by Typhoon Ondoy in September 2009, left thousands homeless, Teleperformance's Citizen of the World (COTW) immediately started raising funds for relief efforts. With Gawad Kalinga (an organization devoted to building communities to end poverty) as a strategic partner, COTW focused on rebuilding in the community of Tanay, where 300 families had lost their homes. COTW has nearly completed construction on the first 20 homes and more funds are currently being raised to start construction on an additional 20 homes. Additionally, COTW will soon break ground on a new community center which will include a preschool facility, computer learning center and multipurpose hall.

Citizen of the World was established in 2006 as Teleperformance's charitable initiative to help the world's most vulnerable infants and children meet basic survival needs and ultimately reach their individual potential. Dedicated volunteers of Teleperformance Philippines have expanded this charter and established volunteer efforts for the elderly, homeless, and abandoned. These employees donate thousands of volunteer hours every year, in addition to donating financially on a monthly basis to help propel charitable efforts throughout the country.

"Teleperformance Philippines COTW chairman Jeffrey Johnson and committed volunteers spearheaded this project to build homes for victims of Typhoon Onday. Especially since the Philippines is home to so many of our employees, being able to give back to the communities in which we live and work is highly rewarding," says Dave Rizzo, President of Teleperformance Asia Pacific. "This is a wonderful example of the way our employees work together to make the world a better place."

Dominic Dato, Executive Chairman of Teleperformance USA, explains COTW's goals: "Our core objectives are to make Teleperformance's charitable efforts engaging and fulfilling for all Teleperformance people and entities; to unite in a worthy common cause compatible with local needs; to maximize giving levels and encourage our colleagues, clients and other audiences to join our significant humanitarian commitment; and to elevate the pride, loyalty and satisfaction of our people."
