Key New Features Available in Double-Take Availability for AIX
Vision Solutions, Inc., is announcing several significant enhancements to its robust and affordable suite known as Double-Take Availability for AIX. The new release provides several important enhancements including support for IBM AIX v7 environments, easier setup and automation of replication configuration and the ability to work seamlessly in environments using IBM's Live Partition Mobility.

  • Live partition mobility support is now supported in all Double-Take Availability for AIX products allowing services to work without disruption including movement of either the primary or secondary server (in a cluster) with no cluster failover occurring during the move. It also allows Double-Take Availability to see and manage the failover resources on the new target while the heartbeat from primary to secondary server continues throughout the move.

  • Bandwidth sizing tool helps users determine the proper sizing for their rewind window and to calculate the bandwidth required for replication.

  • Disk Heartbeat capability helps avoid false failovers by providing an additional alternate communication channel through which heartbeat messages are exchanged between the two nodes of the cluster using shared disk.
