DEL MAR--- Alan Waterhouse Named President and CEO of Asteres Inc.

Asteres Inc., the industry’s first developer of automated prescription storage and self-checkout machines for the retail pharmacy market, announced today that it has named Alan Waterhouse as President and CEO. Mr. Waterhouse was recruited by Asteres Founder & Chief Business Officer, Linda Pinney. “I am thrilled to bring Al back to San Diego,” said Pinney. “Al is a friend and colleague whose exceptional leadership and superior operations background will enable Asteres to scale exponentially to serve its markets.”

Mr. Waterhouse rejoins a dynamic team of former Pyxis talent at Asteres including Ron Taylor, Founder & CEO of Pyxis who serves as the company’s Chairman and Sanderling Ventures General Partner Tim Wollaeger, who was the first major investor in Pyxis and is the first major investor in Asteres. “Today we added a key Executive to the already impressive leadership at Asteres. Al brings healthcare automation expertise and a long track record of diversified P&L success in high growth environments.” Asteres Chairman Ron Taylor went on to say, “bringing Al back for this position is a big win for Asteres and its customers.”

Al Waterhouse joins Asteres from Cardinal Health where he was President of Cardinal Health’s Packaging Services, based in Philadelphia, which is the world’s largest fully integrated packager for pharmaceuticals with over 4000 employees operating in 12 facilities worldwide. Al was promoted internally from Pyxis Corporation in San Diego, another Cardinal Health company, where he was Vice President of Manufacturing/Operations responsible for production, materials management, worldwide logistics, property and facilities management and information technology. Before joining Pyxis, Mr. Waterhouse held several senior management positions in manufacturing and operations with General Motors Corporation.

Mr. Waterhouse holds a Bachelor’s degree from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio and a Master’s in Business Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati.
