WebSideStory Launches HBX Stream: APIs for Digital Marketing Products and Services

WebSideStory (www.websidestory.com) (NASDAQ:WSSI) , a leading provider of on-demand Web analytics, today announced the launch of an API (application programming interface) suite that enables strategic partners to integrate their products, services, and data with its analytics reporting and provide their customers with more relevant visitor intelligence. The HBX Stream services (www.websidestory.com/stream/) are available to all providers of online marketing technology, including e-mail service providers, search engine marketing firms, affiliate marketing companies, and CRM vendors. Current strategic partners include Responsys, @Once, Postfuture, Blue Hornet and Vertical Response. The HBX Stream platform consists of two components: partner support, including joint marketing and sales commitments and access to a suite of APIs that will enable partners to integrate their data, products, and services with WebSideStory's HBX Web analytics technology. The platform provides joint customers with more actionable intelligence and improves convenience by allowing them to work with fewer applications.

"The HBX Stream Platform gives us access to critical Web site visitor behavior information that will enable our joint customers to create highly targeted online marketing campaigns to drive significantly better response rates," said Scott Olrich, CMO of Responsys (www.responsys.com), a leading provider of e-mail and marketing services. "We are pleased to be one of the first to join and look forward to working with WebSideStory's many customers."

WebSideStory's API suite is based on technology standards, such as SOAP and XML. WebSideStory provides HBX Stream partners with full documentation and support for its APIs, which include:

* Web Analytics Reporting API -- Allows partners to integrate specific analytic reports, such as campaign and conversion data, directly into their own applications. For example, content management providers could deliver key content usage metrics within their own interface, increasing the value and convenience of their solution for customers.

* Web Visitor Profile API -- Gives partners the ability to integrate information about site behavior or e-commerce activity into their online marketing campaigns. This helps them create more narrowly targeted campaigns for better response rates. Partners can also use this API to create personalized services for their end users.

* Campaign Creation API -- With this API, partners can automatically set up campaign tracking in the HBX service through their own applications. For example, e-mail service providers can insert campaign set-up information directly into the HBX service when the e-mail content is created, without using the HBX interface. This enables joint customers to create and execute campaigns faster and more efficiently.

"The HBX Stream Platform fosters a more collaborative environment around WebSideStory's analytics technology," said Bob Blumstein, Director of CRM Analytics for IDC (www.idc.com), a leading global market research and advisory firm in Boston. "The program should enable WebSideStory to forge strong partnerships and expand its industry footprint."

"We believe the HBX Stream Platform will go a long way toward bringing together digital marketing applications that have long been divided," said Jay McCarthy, Vice President of Business Development for WebSideStory.
