Leap Wireless International, Inc. (Nasdaq:LEAP), a leading provider of innovative and value-driven wireless communications services, today announced that it has appointed Fernando Corona as vice president of channel development for the Company. In this position, Corona will be responsible for leading the expansion of Leap's Cricket service into new sales channels.

Corona comes to Leap with more than 22 years of experience in sales, marketing and general management. Most recently he was president and CEO for V-Enable, Inc. in San Diego, where he was responsible for raising capital for the company, recruiting, managing customer and strategic relationships, and channel distribution and operations.
Prior to working with V-Enable, Corona served as senior vice president for PacketVideo for two years where he structured and developed the product marketing and marketing communications teams that positioned the company to be a leader in the wireless multimedia space. From 1998 to 2000, Corona was with Tandberg Data serving as president and CEO. From 1997 to 1998, Corona was the Director of Pan American distribution sales for Maxtor Corporation, where he managed an organization that sold to tier-two distributors in Canada, Latin America and the U.S. Corona has also held management positions with Allied Telesyn, International Western Digital Corporation, Miniscribe Corporation and AST Research, Inc.
He is active in the community serving on the Board of Directors for San Diego Children's Museum, the Board of Advisors for the Regional Technology Association/Connect and the San Diego Telecom Council. Corona received his bachelor's degree from California State University, Fullerton.
