Invisible Bracelet Renamed ICEdot

Companies mentioned in this article: ICEdot

TULSA, Okla. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- To more accurately reflect its purpose as an emergency identification and notification service, Invisible Bracelet (iB) has been renamed ICEdot, which stands for In Case of Emergency.

“Since we launched iB in 2009, our products and services have advanced and evolved,” said Chris Zenthoefer, ICEdot CEO. “We felt the time was right to adopt a name that represents our full range of emergency identification and notification services. But while we have grown into ICEdot, our company’s core mission and partnerships remain the same. We will continue to work very closely with the American Ambulance Association, who has validated our services, and all of our original iB identifiers and member cards will still work.”

ICEdot utilizes the Internet, mobile applications and SMS technology to quickly identify a patient, relay important medical information and provide emergency contacts in the case of any accident or medical incident. ICEdot identifiers include the ICEdot Snap which attaches to clothing, as well as stickers, key fobs, wristbands and bracelets. A variety of ICEdot ID jewelry products will also be available soon.

Along with its new name and identifiers, ICEdot is announcing two new free services: the Yellow ICEdot program and ICE.events.

Designed for motorists, the Yellow ICEdot program allows anyone to create a free ICEdot account through the company’s website, www.icedot.org. Participants in this program place a Yellow ICEdot sticker on the rear window of their car and keep an emergency response form in their car’s glove compartment. When emergency first responders see the ICEdot sticker on a car’s rear window, they understand to look in the glove compartment for emergency identification contact information.

The ICE.events service allows event organizers, such as those coordinating sporting activities like running and cycling events, to upload participant information and emergency contacts to the ICEdot website. The ICE.events service is offered at no cost to the events or participants. This data is synched with event participants, usually by their bib number, to enable first responders at the scene of a sporting event to access participants’ medical and emergency contact information.

“Our ICE.events service is becoming increasingly popular at sporting events across the country. Event organizers are recognizing the importance of providing their participants with this free and valuable safety service,” said Zenthoefer.
