FREMONT, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/14/11 -- AMAX, a leading provider of High Performance Computing (HPC), dynamic Enterprise IT and Appliance Manufacturing solutions, is giving back to the community in a big way. Partnering with One Warm Coat, the Alameda County Community Food Bank and The Salvation Army, AMAX is collecting articles of clothing, blankets & pillows, toys and a variety of non-perishable foods donated from its employees and fellow partners in the industry to help those in need during this time of giving.
"Being a good corporate citizen is more than just writing a check to a nonprofit, checking complete next to your external branding strategy and calling it a day," said Jean Shih, President, AMAX. "To make a meaningful difference, AMAX has integrated a corporate philanthropy process into our entire business model by aligning ourselves with community involvement, being environmentally conscious and maintaining our commitment to making a positive difference locally and globally."

AMAX has continually contributed countless volunteer hours, dollars and support to a growing list of charities and organizations dedicated to tackling wide ranging issues from local education and public health to global poverty and development.
"AMAX regularly donates and contributes to various organizations on a monthly basis, but we wanted to do something a little different this year to really engage our staff as well as the entire tech community," said Julia Shih, Director of Strategic Alliance, AMAX. "Many people express a desire to do something on behalf of others, but only a portion actually goes and does the work. AMAX strives to be proactive in the community and truly make a difference."
AMAX employees are its most distinguished assets and it's the infectious spirit that is the driving force for AMAX's community involvement. With hundreds of employees around the globe, this represents a grand opportunity to truly make a difference and AMAX has initiatives in place to endorse employee involvement.
