JACKSON, Miss. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Bomgar, the worldwide leader in secure, enterprise remote support solutions today announced that its founder and CEO, Joel Bomgar, is the recipient of CDHC Solutions’ annual CEO Leadership Award. Each year the publication, the official magazine for The Institute for HealthCare Consumerism, names industry “superstars” that exude outstanding health and benefits management solutions, including the CEO Leadership Award.

Joel was selected for this year’s honor due to his commitment to providing innovative healthcare options and making employee benefits a top priority, even in the midst of a struggling economy. Joel and his fellow winners, nominated by the field at large, are recognized by CDHC Solutions for improving their business by committing to the health and wellness of their employees. Others profiled in this year’s “Superstars” issue include Whole Foods’ John Mackey, Dennis Triplett of UMB Healthcare Services and Dr. Stephen D. Neelman of Health Equity. Joel’s story, along with these winners and additional honorees, can be accessed online at http://theihcc.com/en/publications/superstars.

“I am a firm believer in paying it forward and that businesses can go from good to great by taking risks,” said Joel Bomgar. “During the start of the recession in 2009, most companies started slashing employee benefits such as health premiums and 401k match. At Bomgar, I made the decision that we weren’t going to do that because I believe the company’s biggest asset is the employee base, and slashing benefits would certainly not send employees that message. Cutting benefits was tempting, but not doing so was a risk I was willing to take. In fact, in the last five years, Bomgar has increased its health-related benefits.”

Linda Benedict, director of human resources for Bomgar, says Joel Bomgar is a CEO like none other when it comes to keeping employees happy, and she stands by his firm belief in paying it forward. “Joel Bomgar is a superstar when it comes to supporting employee benefits. When I first joined the company in 2008, it was one of my first initiatives to review the overall employee benefits package to identify ways in which we could improve what was currently being provided and offer additional perks for our growing employee base. Today we offer a PPO and HDHP/HSA plan, with the latter being the plan of choice for our employees. What makes our HDHP/HSA option so attractive is the fact that, not only are the premiums lower, but Bomgar contributes to an employee’s HSA at the rate of what Bomgar would be saving in premiums.”

In addition to online, all CDHC Solutions issues are also available in print to subscribers and members of www.TheIHCC.com.
