NOVATO, Calif. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Radiant Logic, the market leader of identity virtualization solutions, today announced that the complete federated identity service delivered by its RadiantOne identity virtualization platform enables government agencies at every level to meet recently-mandated Federal Identity, Credential and Access Management (FICAM) requirements. As part of the guidelines, FICAM introduced the Authoritative Attribute Exchange Service (AAES) capability as the means of securely sharing authoritative identity attributes within an agency. According to the FICAM roadmap, the AAES: “…is a technical solution that enables agencies to connect various authoritative data sources and share identity and other attributes within the shared enterprise infrastructure.” (page 219)
This solution is designed to help agencies: “link their authoritative sources of identity information with consumers of identity data across the agency, thus eliminating the need to redundantly collect identity data at each point where it is used.” (page 221) The AAES consists of two components, the Authoritative Attribute Manager (AAM), which reconciles and aggregates attributes from various sources to deliver a single, logical view of data, and the Authoritative Attribute Distributor (AAD), which integrates and exchanges data from the AAM with attribute-consuming applications.
Using model-driven identity virtualization, the RadiantOne platform provides all the functions of a complete AAES, including logical service layers to act as both the AAM and the AAD. Through a virtual abstraction layer, RadiantOne brings together identity information from disparate data silos, delivering a global view of identity while enforcing security at the local level, as close to the sources of service as possible. With this unique model-driven approach, agencies can securely share credential and identity information throughout the federated infrastructure.
“Radiant is excited to be leading the use of an identity service based on virtual directory technology in the government sector," said Michel Prompt, CEO of Radiant Logic. "We have been a committed partner to many government entities and look forward to helping to take federal identity security to the next level. Radiant is continuing innovation by creating a complete federated identity service, enabling the new Authoritative Attribute Exchange Service, so government entities can better share secured identity attributes across the infrastructure.”
The RadiantOne platform consists of an advanced Virtual Directory Server (VDS), the Identity Correlation and Synchronization Server (ICS), and the Cloud Federation Service component, all fine-tuned to give agencies an overarching, federated view of their identities. This complete identity service aggregates and correlates identities across systems—from both ICAM agencies and their contractors—to provide a single authoritative source of digital identity, without the need for custom coding or complex synchronizations.
"We are thrilled to have our technology at the core of government identity architecture, enabling a vital initiative such as FICAM. RadiantOne provides an industrial-grade solution for some of the world’s most security-sensitive organizations," says Don Graham, Senior Account Manager at Radiant Logic. "Using RadiantOne, many agencies will be able to meet the new FICAM guidelines at the lowest cost, closing security gaps while safely sharing identity information."
