PORTLAND, Ore. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The University of Oregon Alumni Association (UOAA) is partnering with daily deal website Sharing Spree to offer an exciting weekend-long deal for local residents and boost donations for the organization.

Not your typical daily deal website, Sharing Spree donates between 10 and 15 percent of every transaction to local non-profits or schools. And, the best deal of all: consumers can decide which organizations receive their donations by simply choosing from a list on Sharing Spree’s website.

“We’ve seen the strong relationships Sharing Spree has built throughout the Portland area with consumers, non-profits and businesses alike, and we’re eager to partner with a site that does so much for our community,” said Anthony McAdoo, senior associate executive director of University of Oregon Alumni Association. “We made the decision to partner with Sharing Spree because we know it will offer a tremendous fundraising opportunity for our organization.”

From Feb. 10-12, UOAA will benefit from a Sharing Spree deal for Cinetopia located in Progress Ridge 14 in Beaverton, Ore., and Millplain in Vancouver, Wash. Cinetopia, a luxury multiplex movie theater and restaurant business, provides a variety of unique entertainment options under one roof. For $19, local residents can purchase two tickets, a large tub of popcorn and get 10 percent off at Cinetopia’s wine bar theatre restaurant, Vinotopia.

“As a University of Oregon graduate, I insisted on offering an exciting deal for local residents that will benefit the UOAA,” said Rudyard Coltman, J.D., owner of Cinetopia. “This is a perfect match for all parties involved.”

Launched in 1879 with five alumni, the UOAA offers a long history of keeping alumni connected to the university and a wide array of opportunities for service. With a membership of 19,000, the organization serves as an important connection to the University for the more than 180,000 alumni around the world.

A huge supporter of the Oregon Ducks, Coltman has a Bachelor of Science from University of Oregon and a Jurist Doctoral Degree from University of Oregon School of Law. He is the sole member-manager of Cinetopia, and is also an attorney with more than 15 years of practice experience. Coltman was the managing partner in the law firm of Yervasi & Coltman, LLP from 1998-2005 specializing in business and management law, as well as property law. For 11 years, he was owner and general manager of the Eltrym Historic Theater, LLC in Baker City, Ore. In that role, he oversaw the 5-year acquisition and operation of the Desert Historic Theater, LLC in Burns, Ore. In addition, Coltman is president of Coltman Enterprises Inc., a diverse property and management company owning commercial, development and residential real estate throughout the U.S.

“We are excited to offer a deal to one of our area’s most fun attractions, all while benefiting an organization that is committed to fostering lifelong connections with Oregon’s largest university,” Dana Free, national director of community relationships for Sharing Spree.

New organizations and non-profits can join at any time, and can sign up by contacting Sharing Spree at www.sharingspree.com.
