IRVINE--- Avamar Announces Clint McVey, a VERITAS Veteran, as Senior Vice President of Product Operations

Avamar Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise data protection software that allows corporations to efficiently move, store, and leverage information for business value, today announced the addition of Clint McVey as the company's Senior Vice President of Product Operations. Mr. McVey most recently served as the General Manager/Vice President of the Data Management Group at VERITAS Software. As the as the GM/VP of the Data Management Group at VERITAS, Mr. McVey he led VERITAS' largest business unit, including the Backup Exec and NetBackup product lines. VERITAS was acquired by Symantec in July of 2005.

Prior to VERITAS, McVey was the Senior Director of Engineering at Seagate Software for the Backup Exec product line. During Clint's tenure at Seagate Software, Backup Exec became the industry's leading backup and recovery application with more than 40% market share in the Windows SMB server market. Clint also has significant Data Management and Networking experience from his tenures at Computer Associates, Cheyenne Software and Novell.
