Jabber, Inc. and Akonix Systems, Inc. jointly announced today that Version 5.1 of L7 Enterprise(TM) on the A-Series IM Security Appliances(TM) is the first product to offer native support for Jabber, Inc.'s EventBroker. A component of the Jabber Extensible Communications Platform (Jabber XCP), EventBroker enables customers to filter and add to real-time content streams based on keywords and other business logic. Targeted to customers where compliance, security, and real-time information sharing are paramount, both companies anticipate strong demand across the financial services and national security sectors.
"Jabber EventBroker is an industrial strength developer feature unique to Jabber XCP. In sensitive environments such as Wall Street and the federal government its components can apply business logic to the packets that pass through Jabber XCP's messaging features -- blocking restricted data, rewriting content, or integrating with backend systems in real-time," said Joe Hildebrand, CTO at Jabber, Inc. "By integrating EventBroker's application program interfaces (APIs) with L7 Enterprise on Akonix's A-Series appliances, joint customers can extend EventBroker's real-time content filter to the secure and compliant instant messaging (IM) sessions that Akonix enables."
"The recent introduction of 360-Degree Security for Real-Time Communications(TM) by Akonix, closely tied with the real-time content filtering capabilities of Jabber EventBroker, provides customers with the most comprehensive and thorough approach to multi-tiered security for enterprise and corporate use of public and private IM networks," said Don Montgomery, VP of marketing at Akonix. "Combined with the compliance management and security capabilities of Akonix L7 Enterprise, customers are further assured that their investments in IM are consistent with their organizational and regulatory compliance policies."
