Apani Networks, the leading enterprise network security software provider focused on securing inside the network perimeter, today announced Mr. Dean Norman as the company's new vice president of sales for North America. Before joining Apani last year, Mr. Norman was the senior service director for Dell Corporation's corporate accounts group. Prior to Dell he was the vice president of sales for NativeMinds, an eCommerce start-up since acquired by Verity. Mr. Norman's career history has shown that he is capable of significantly increasing sales year-over-year and rapidly building a strong company sales force.

"Dean brings exceptional and successful sales experience in both large organizations and start up environments to his new role at Apani," said David Lynch, vice president worldwide sales and marketing for Apani. "His positive track record in his previous positions and his history with Apani makes him the ideal person to lead our North American sales organization as we continue to expand the market opportunities for EpiForce."

In addition, Mr. Norman has held sales positions with Primus, Computer Associates, Advanced Data Collections, and Gateway Data Sciences. He holds a B.S.B.A. degree in marketing from Chapman University.

About EpiForce

Apani EpiForce is an enterprise data protection product that secures data in motion and protects data at rest. It allows organizations to dynamically segment their networks based on application, while automatically implementing a range of different security elements including strong authentication, authorization and access control and the encryption of data in motion. Security elements are automatically enforced between every node on the network, allowing EpiForce to protect data wherever it resides. This shifts the focus to the security of the data itself rather than on the importance of the perimeter.

Apani's EpiForce is designed for large distributed deployment environments and supports most operating systems, and operates at the network layer, making it transparent to the application and to the end-user. EpiForce enforces security relationships, reports on all attempted unauthorized activity, logically segments the network for defense-in-depth, and provides a strong audit trail to reduce the overall cost of security and compliance audits.
