Akonix Security Center Publishes I'm Threat Watch for June 2006; 111 Total Attacks Through the First Six Months of This Year
Akonix Systems, the provider of the most deployed instant messaging (IM) security and compliance products in the world, today announced its Security Center (www.imsecuritycenter.com) researchers tracked 17 attacks against I'm networks in June, and a total of 111 during the first six months of 2006.
New worms identified in June include BlackAngel and Gaobot. The most common attacks were Tilebot and Mesoto, which each had three variants. Overall, Akonix security analysts issued a total of five new policy updates, using the industry's only dynamic I'm malware, spim and protocol update system. This automatically pushes updates to customers and blocks spyware, worms and viruses in real time at the network perimeter.
