Innergy Power Corporation today announced that its Power Plant auxiliary notebook battery can power many of the Dell Inspiron, Latitude, XPS and Precision, and Apple PowerBook G4 and iBook G4 notebook computers involved in the recall of lithium-ion batteries manufactured by Sony Corporation.
The Power Plant 12V, 5Ah thin rechargeable SLA battery can power notebook computers (up to 3.5A rating) even with the internal battery removed, which is what both Dell and Apple recommend to their customers affected by the recall.
The Power Plant battery is compatible with a wide range of notebook computers from most manufacturers. Specific compatibility questions can also be addressed by contacting Innergy Power at 888-737-7697 or e-mail dsquire@innergypower.com.
To power a laptop, users need one of the commonly available car charger adapters such as those offered by Kensington, Targus and iGo. Then, one end of the cord is plugged into the DC plug on the Power Plant battery and the other end is plugged into the AC input port on the laptop.

Innergy Power also offers solar/battery Power Pack solutions that can power Dell and Apple notebook computers and they feature three ways to recharge ... the sun, the wall or the DC outlet in a car.
