NEWPORT BEACH--- Universal Guardian Awarded $3.2 Million Security Services Contract
Universal Guardian Holdings, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: UGHO) , an emerging global leader in non-lethal protection products, integrated transportation and global supply chain security systems and strategic security services to protect against terrorist, criminal and security threats to governments and businesses worldwide, announced today that a subsidiary of Universal Guardian Services Group Pte. Ltd. (UGSG), has been awarded a contract by the Academy for Education Development to provide security support services in Afghanistan. AED is a subcontractor to Management Sciences for Health, which is the U.S. Agency for International Development, (USAID) largest health initiative in Afghanistan. AED has been in existence for the last 44 years and is presently conducting 4,300 programs in 167 countries and employs 1400 staff.
Universal Guardian's subsidiary will provide mobile security teams in remote regions of Afghanistan to ensure protection and defensive response against hostile activity for the AED core team members while traveling to or from destinations in these regions. The contract continues through January, 2011, and has a core cost value of $2,383,128.00 with a variable cost value of $890,400.00 bringing the total value of the contract award to $3,273,528.00.
"This contract represents yet another expansion of our security operations in Afghanistan and clearly demonstrates the confidence of USAID contractors and their subcontractors in our company's ability to deliver the highest level of strategic and tactical security services to the U.S. funded development projects," stated Bruce Braes, Universal's subsidiaries' Managing Director. "We continue to demonstrate solid revenue growth in our services group by securing new contracts and now hold executed contracts in excess of $25 Million in value for the coming 12 months," Mr. Braes added.
