Biomatrica Inc., a San Diego-based company focused on biostability, has added to its scientific team and corporate headquarters. The new team members include Knut Madden, Ph.D., Product Development Director, and Peggy Faix, Ph.D., Project Manager.
Knut Madden is responsible for the development of new products for Biomatrica. His 10 years experience in industrial biotech includes product management for Invitrogen Corp. He completed post-doctoral work at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and has a Ph.D. from the University of Washington.
Peggy Faix's project management role will include intellectual property and scientific collaborations. She most recently served as Scientific Advisor for Fish and Richardson's Biotechnology Patent Practice and was a molecular biologist at Selective Genetics, Inc. Faix has a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Post-doctoral Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health.
Biomatrica's Sorrento Valley headquarters has doubled, with the addition of a GMP manufacturing area as well as increased space for R&D and sales.
