Dynamics Research Corporation (NASDAQ:DRCO) announced today that it is on the Computer Sciences Corporation led team chosen to support the Army's Battle Command Knowledge System, based out of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas under the ITES-2S IDIQ contract. DRC began providing knowledge management support on the task order on June 18, 2007. The subcontract, which is new work to DRC, includes a ten-month base period and two one-year renewal options. Revenue for the initial base period is estimated at $1.1 million with a total award value of approximately $3.5 million.
The Battle Command Knowledge System establishes an Army-level knowledge management system to support soldiers and leaders in the performance of operational missions. The system develops transformed processes and business rules to ensure that the knowledge generation-processing-application cycle is institutionalized to provide ongoing, near real-time support to the Army's battle command, doctrine development, leader development, and education and training programs. Program initiatives include virtual forums, lessons learned analysis and collaboration process, input mechanisms for individual and organizational learning, links and references to training and doctrine resources, and information exchange enhancement.
