NEEDHAM, Mass. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Consortium for IT Software Quality (CISQ) is hosting the webinar, “Standard Metrics to Manage Software Risk” on Thursday, December 6th at 11:00am EST. The webinar will be a panel discussion. It will be hosted by Dr. Bill Curtis, the Director of CISQ, and will include Jasmine Alexander, SVP and CIO of Penton Media as a panelist.

Software metrics can be used as a standard indicator of software quality attributes that are also leading risk indicators. The spread of software complexity and the increasing risks IT software managers are facing in order to keep up with the speed of business has made software metrics more important than ever.

Some of the topics that Dr. Curtis and the panelists will focus on include:

-What are some of the software risk drivers in the IT industry today?

-How does the business treat software risk and what are the attitudes on preemptive investment?

-What type of measurement frameworks are used to manage risk today?

-And what are the requirements for adopting a standardized software measurement framework?

The webcast will last an hour with 15-20 minutes at the end left open for discussion among the webinar participants. To register for the webinar, visit http://it-cisq.org/webinar-standard-metrics-to-manage-software-risk/.

The Consortium for IT Software Quality (CISQ) is an IT industry leadership group comprised of IT executives from the Global 2000, system integrators, outsourced service providers, and software technology vendors committed to introduce a computable metrics standard for measuring software quality and size. CISQ is a neutral, open forum in which customers and suppliers of IT application software can develop an industry-wide agenda of actions for improving IT application quality and reduce cost and risk.
