LOS ANGELES -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Having assisted Courts and lawyers in reducing the cost of litigation since 1995 via its telephonic court appearance program, CourtCall has introduced its video court appearance service to provide Judges, litigators, witnesses and jurors an easy to use method to add video to existing remote appearance procedures and to enable low-cost remote witness participation. As with CourtCall’s primary program, there is no cost to participating Courts and no equipment for Courts to purchase. CourtCall’s program is voluntary and those lawyers or other remote participants who wish to use the service pay a reasonable fee to do so in order to skip an expensive trip to Court.

The CourtCall Video service adds the visual element while retaining the flexibility and portability of its telephonic appearance system. “We suspect that telephonic appearances will continue to grow and that the video enhancement will simply expand the reach of remote appearances to those hearings where Judges and participants would appreciate the visual experience,” said Bob Alvarado, CourtCall’s CEO. “From the day we started in 1995, we knew that video would be the next frontier,” said Mark Wapnick, CourtCall’s President, “and we are thrilled to be in a position to have created a proprietary system designed specifically for Judges and lawyers.”

CourtCall serves over 2,500 Federal, Bankruptcy, State, Provincial and other judicial officers across the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, having completed millions of telephonic court appearances saving lawyers millions of hours and hundreds of millions of dollars for their clients all while helping to prevent thousands of tons of CO2 from entering our environment.
