RSA® Conference 2013 Expands All-Star Keynote Lineup to Include Jimmy Wales, Jane McGonigal and Vint Cerf

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- RSA® Conference (www.rsaconference.com), the world’s leading information security conferences and expositions, today announced Wikipedia Founder Jimmy Wales, world-renowned game designer and New York Times best-selling author Jane McGonigal and Google VP and Chief Internet Evangelist Vint Cerf to its line-up of keynote speakers for the 22nd annual RSA Conference, taking place February 25 – March 1 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA.

In addition to covering trends in information security, RSA Conference 2013 will examine the current information revolution and how to use, secure and share the massive volumes of data created each day. The featured keynote speakers will address data, the Internet and interconnectivity from unique perspectives:

  • Jimmy Wales: Wales is a U.S. Internet entrepreneur, wiki pioneer, and technology visionary, who is best known as the Founder of Wikipedia, an international collaborative free content encyclopedia on the Internet, and the Wikimedia Foundation. He is co-founder of Wikia, a privately owned free web hosting service he set up in 2004. Wales is a Fellow of the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School. He serves on the Board of Directors of the non-profit organization, Creative Commons.
  • Jane McGonigal: McGonigal is a New York Times best-selling author and today's leading speaker on gamification - the application of game-design principles to real-life challenges. McGonigal has created games for the World Bank, the Olympic Games, the American Heart Association, the New York Public Library and many more. Her book is the definitive modern work on gamification, “Reality is Broken: How Games Make Us Better and How They Can Change The World.” She is currently an advisor and affiliate researcher with the Institute For The Future in Palo Alto, California, where she served for four years as the Director of Game Research and Development. Her recent projects include a Games for Healthcare initiative with IFTF and the White House as well as Paths Out Of Poverty, a crowdsourcing game by IFTF for the Rockefeller Foundation.
  • Vint Cerf: VP and Chief Internet Evangelist for Google, Cerf served at MCI, the Corporation for National Research Initiatives, at DARPA and as a member of the Stanford University Faculty. Cerf co-invented the architecture and basic protocols of the Internet. He has received the U.S. National Medal of Technology, ACM Turing award, the US Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Japan Prize. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, ACM, and American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the International Engineering Consortium, the Computer History Museum, the National Academy of Engineering and a member of the American Philosophical Society.
