MCLEAN, Va. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- To support enhanced modeling and simulation (M&S) services for the Department of Defense (DoD), Alion Science and Technology, a global engineering, R&D, IT and operational solutions company, will provide the DoD Modeling and Simulation Coordination Office (M&SCO) with strategic planning and technical support across a spectrum of tasks under a $10.6 million contract. Such tasks include strategic outreach, modernization of information systems, high-level architecture (HLA) compliance testing and M&S education.
As M&SCO supports the DoD community with M&S products and technical services, Alion’s work will deliver relevant solutions that provide improved capabilities for DoD operations. This includes technical efforts to improve compliance with M&S standards; determine the return on investment of M&S services; enhance M&S verification, validation and accreditation; coordinate international M&S technical developments; and advance the visibility of M&S information.
“By providing M&SCO with greater ability to promote interoperability and reuse of solutions within the DoD community, Alion’s modeling and simulation work can help save costs and advance the DoD’s M&S strategic vision and goals,” said Terri Spoonhour, Group Senior Vice President and Manager of the Distributed Simulation Group.
The period of performance runs through September 24, 2015.
