ST. LOUIS -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- For the sixth consecutive year, FORTUNE has placed St. Louis-based Scottrade, Inc., a leading branch-supported online investing services firm, on the FORTUNE® “100 Best Companies to Work For” list. This year, the company ranked No. 53.
Scottrade Founder and Chief Executive Officer Rodger Riney hired Chief Administrative Officer Jane Wulf shortly after founding the brokerage company in 1980. For 26 years the two have worked side-by-side to build a company culture where associates enjoy working together and take pride in their work. (Photo: Business Wire)
According to FORTUNE, Scottrade made the list, in part, because it “has never closed an office and has continued to provide discretionary bonuses.”
“Thirty-three years ago, I founded this company to provide a better way for people to self-direct their investments,” said Rodger Riney, Scottrade’s founder and chief executive officer. “As our clients’ needs have evolved along with the markets, our associates’ hard work and dedication has enabled Scottrade to expand its in-person and online services, which today includes online banking. Our success is attributed to our focus on creating a positive, engaging and productive work environment.”
Scottrade employs more than 3,600 associates nationwide to help support its 500-plus branch offices and operation centers in St. Louis, Denver, Phoenix and Chicago.
“To be recognized for a sixth consecutive year on this list is a true honor,” said Jane Wulf, Scottrade’s chief administrative officer, who has led the company’s human resources department for 26 years. “It humbles me to know that through the ups and downs of the economy and the markets, we continue to have an amazing culture with a family of associates who enjoy working together and take pride in helping clients.”
As the financial services firm continues to evolve, its need to retain talented associates with a variety of skill sets remains a top priority. Scottrade meets this need by offering many distinctive benefits, including:
