LOS ANGELES -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- MRI Athlete and champion bodybuilder Charles Turner will appear at the Buckley Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Fight Night, a live military industry event, on February 9, 2013 at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, Colorado. The event, which will raise money for The Wounded Warriors Project, continues a tradition of giving back for Natrol. For the last three years, the company has sent Performance care packages to various USA armed forces overseas.

“Fight Night” marks the first time the base will host the premier MMA event, where around 50,000 current and former military servicemen and servicewomen will watch the fight starring Alvin Robinson (USA) and Fabio Serrao (Brazil). Approximately 1,200 will watch from Buckley AFB; and another 40,000 via military channels including the Pentagon channel for troops stationed overseas. MRI is partnering with Fight! Magazine for this event, which starts at 7 p.m. MST.
MRI – a subsidiary-brand of Natrol, Inc. – will have a booth on the base. Turner will pass out samples of innovative sports nutrition supplements and full-size products exclusively from Natrol, MRI and PROLAB - including current top sellers Melatonin, B-12, Quick Fire, Black Powder, Black Powder ULTRA, CREA7INE, NO2 RED, as well as NO2 Red Hemo-Surge. He will also visit the GNC store located on site at 10:30 a.m. on February 8, to meet customers, staff and pass out free samples.
Turner, a personal trainer who has been a body builder for seven years, has won numerous heavyweight and middleweight divisions. The Santa Clarita native is a former Marine, and served as a fire team and infantry squad leader of a helicopter assault company. Turner epitomizes MRI’s chosen athlete representatives, who typically embody qualities of both peak fitness and everyday lifestyle in various work fields and demographics.
“I credit the time I spent in the military for the discipline and focus I have today, so I’m always thrilled and eager to be involved in any event that supports our troops,” Turner said. “They put their lives on the line. I want to be there to help them make the right choice in their sports nutrition products, and help them understand what MRI, PROLAB and Natrol have to offer, especially these new and highly effective products.”
Fight Night will be closed to the general public, but fans can watch on live stream. A portion of the proceeds are going to The Wounded Warriors Project, a non-profit organization intent on empowering and honoring wounded service members. Francis E. Warren AFB, Peterson AFB, Schriever AFB, Fort Carson Base - ARMY, and The Air Force Academy are also involved in the event.
