CHARLESTON, S.C. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- SCRA today announced its Partnership Intermediary Agreement with Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division. SCRA will leverage its knowledge and relationships to identify small businesses and educational institutions in an effort to assist NWSC Crane Division with licensing technologies and technology transfer.
The partnership will combine NSWC Crane Division’s ability to generate innovative technology with SCRA's proven ability to commercialize technology. Ultimately, the partnership will bring technology and intellectual property generated and developed by NSWC Crane Division researchers and engineers to the commercial market. The Navy is a strong proponent for transferring this intellectual property into widespread use within the United States' industrial base.
"This partnership, much like our SPAWAR program partnership, will serve as a model for transferring federal technologies to the commercial market," said SCRA CEO Bill Mahoney. "Through intellectual property commercialization, we can help the US Navy ensure high returns-on-investment for their research dollars, which will ultimately strengthen our national and state economies."
