Liaison Technologies Bolsters Set of Solutions for Electronic Health Information Exchange with Acquisition of Ignis Systems

Companies mentioned in this article: Liaison Technologies

ATLANTA -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Liaison Technologies, a global provider of secure cloud-based integration and data management services and solutions, today announced it has acquired Ignis Systems, a leading provider of clinical data integration solutions for health laboratory and radiology orders and results. Liaison will incorporate Ignis’ expertise in EMR integration, practice-based CPOE, patient engagement and the company’s nationwide network of integrated labs to its cloud-based healthcare data integration portfolio of services. The acquisition opens new opportunities for Liaison on the clinical side of the healthcare IT market and offers its customers a broader set of solutions and services for improving health information exchange.

“Ignis Systems brings a wealth of healthcare domain expertise, EMR integration technology, an experienced and knowledgeable staff and a first-class set of customers that understands and recognizes the value of electronic health information exchange in providing quality patient care,“ said Bob Renner, CEO of Liaison. “We are excited about the possibilities of this business combination and the promise it holds to further develop robust integration and workflow capability across a broad healthcare landscape.”

Liaison will add Ignis’ EMR-Link solution to its integration and data management services portfolio in order to offer customers a more robust set of solutions for health information exchange. EMR-Link provides universal provider-centric orders and results connectivity across the continuum of care. Working alongside Liaison’s data integration services, EMR-Link will more effectively connect clinics, labs, service providers, patients, healthcare information exchanges (HIEs), and other patient data repositories. By connecting more than 15,000 care providers at 450 plus practices with over 100 regional and national laboratories and imaging centers, this increased connectivity enables healthcare organizations to reduce costs and improve care through the delivery of more accurate, complete lab orders as well as deliver faster patient-friendly results. With growing focus on the formation of accountable care organizations (ACOs) and population health management, the technology enables healthcare entities to improve overall patient care.

“Joining Liaison will enable Ignis to scale much faster, not only taking advantage of their global presence, but also helping to take us closer to our vision as the alternative to siloed, proprietary health data repositories whereby any healthcare provider can easily connect with any other without requiring a major IT investment and greatly improve the physician and patient interaction,” said Ken Willett, CEO of Ignis Systems. “In addition, Liaison’s culture of customer responsiveness and concern for user experience also makes this a great match.”
