RICHARDSON, Texas -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Hitachi Communication Technologies America, Inc. (Hitachi CTA) today announced that the company is partnering with Contela, Inc. to deliver an end-to-end LTE Small Cell solution. The solution leverages the Hitachi ER5000 Small Cell Gateway and Contela’s LTE Small Cell Access Point for enterprise and public applications. The combined solution ensures stable high speed service, and supports faster deployment of high-speed LTE network coverage.
An LTE Small Cell, also known as a Home eNode B (HeNB) or a femto cell, provides LTE base-station functionality in a very small, cost-effective form factor, ensuring the highest data capacity and RF coverage for business and home users. In wireless networks where data demands are constantly outpacing existing infrastructure, the Hitachi/Contela LTE Small Cell solution enables the efficient handling of data traffic while minimizing the signaling load presented to the existing EPC elements in the core network.
Hitachi CTA has developed and deployed telecommunications equipment in extremely competitive and advanced network environments and continues this tradition by delivering a leading edge end-to-end LTE small cell solution. The Hitachi solution provides wireless operators with an LTE Small Cell with field-proven stability and a wealth of platform features that incorporate years of learning from some of the largest LTE macro and small cell deployments in the world.
“The Small Cell Gateway leverages the Hitachi ER5000 MME’s proven subscriber and mobility management software and demonstrates the innovative architectural flexibility of Hitachi’s solution,” said Don Keeler, VP of PLM & Business Development, Hitachi Communication Technologies America, Inc. “We are pleased to provide this product as part of the end-to-end LTE Small Cell solution with Contela.”
“Contela is delighted to join with Hitachi CTA to provide our field-proven Small Cell product and management system as part of this solution,” said Jang Ahn Kwon, Contela CMO & Vice President. “Service providers can now quickly and easily provide the LTE services that their subscribers want, and ensure maximum performance to the end user.”
Hitachi CTA will be providing private demonstrations of the LTE Small Cell solution at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week. Wireless operators interested in viewing a private demonstration may contact Hitachi CTA before the show.
