The first recipient of the award was named on Thursday, Feb. 28 as RTI Donor Services President Roger Rose and Vice President Beverly Bliss presented Midwest Transplant Network with the 2012 award. RTI Donor Services and Midwest Transplant Network have worked together since 2010 to maximize the gift of life by offering families the option of tissue donation.
“We are pleased to work with Midwest Transplant Network in honoring the wishes of their donor families and helping thousands of recipients with those gifts. The work that is done each day by the people here is exemplary and truly supports the mission of donation with a true connection to their purpose. We are delighted to name them as our first Pillars of Excellence award recipient,” Rose said.
The Pillars of Excellence award recognizes one agency each year that exhibits greatness in performance, passion and a feeling of partnership in purpose with RTI Donor Services. The ‘pillars’ focus on using data to drive process improvement, measures an organization’s passion to go above and beyond to maximize the gift and recognizes the dedication to the relationship between the agency and RTI.
“The Pillars of Excellence award acts as an incredible opportunity to recognize a premier agency who does all they can to fulfill the wishes of tissue donors and their families,” Bliss said.
RTI Donor Services is a not-for-profit, American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) accredited organization, working with organ and tissue agencies to provide responsible stewardship of the gift of donation. For more information on RTI Donor Services, visit www.rtidonorservices.org.
