Gamecaster, Inc. announced today that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued Gamecaster U.S. Patent No. 7,403,220 on its virtual camera control technology.
Gamecaster's U.S. patent, which issued on July 22, 2008, is the second patent issued to Gamecaster on its virtual camera control technology; the first being Taiwanese Patent No. I-280786, which was issued by the Taiwanese Intellectual Property Office on May 1, 2007. Gamecaster has related patents pending in ten (10) other regions and countries.
Gamecaster's patent entitled, "Apparatus, Methods and Systems for Viewing and Manipulating a Virtual Environment", includes broad claims to devices and methods useful in controlling virtual cameras in a variety of commercially important 3D applications. Gamecaster's GCS3 virtual controller is comprised of a motion sensor, a widescreen HD color viewfinder, and two proprietary thumbstick controls. The GCS3 can be mounted to a tripod fluidhead and panbars, or a Steadicam or shoulder mount for hand-held operation.
