AUSTIN, Texas -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Compass Learning®, the company that personalizes learning to unlock every student’s potential for academic achievement and personal growth, today announced Common Core Professional Development workshops to help educators prepare for the coming Common Core State Standards. The focus of the workshops is on using CompassLearning Odyssey® to create personalized learning paths for students that align with and ensure student understanding of Common Core State Standards in math, English language arts and writing.
“According to a recent report by the Center for American Progress, participation in high-quality, comprehensive professional development is essential for Common Core to fully succeed in a widespread and sustainable way,” said Quannah Hopper, vice president Impact Teacher Academy, Compass Learning’s professional development department. “The main questions we’re currently getting on a consistent basis are, 'How do we best prepare for the transition to Common Core?' and, 'What can we expect?' These workshops are specifically designed to help educators learn how to utilize CompassLearning Odyssey’s rigorous and engaging content and administrative features to be prepared for the transition and ensure students achieve the expected results. We believe these workshops will make the switch to Common Core as smooth as it can possibly be and ensure widespread and sustainable success.”
The Common Core Professional Development workshops will help educators understand the major shifts taking place in teaching Common Core math, English language arts, and writing in three segments: introductory, implementation and evaluation. Additionally, the workshops identify ways educators can use CompassLearning Odyssey to fully meet the Common Core State Standards inquiry and rigor.
The workshops are one day in duration and are now available.
