KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- NavigatorMD, a Knoxville-based claims and health data analytics company, and eDoc4u, a Nashville-based care management and personal health management software as a service (SaaS) company, announced today a strategic partnership and combined offering that enables employers to more accurately predict future health risks, better engage employees in managing their health, and better evaluate plan designs or benefits offerings -- all based on claims history now combined with real-time health data.
Designed to improve overall employee health and wellness, the solution seamlessly integrates individual claims data from NavigatorMD’s Design180 with eDoc4u’s online customized health management tools. This online integration uses actual claims experience, enhanced with self-reported information from the eDoc4u’s Health Risk Assessment (HRA), to better assess risk and recommend individual wellness strategies.
“It’s all about having access to the right data to help people make the right health choices. Knowing how to connect the dots to include the right service providers helps lower healthcare costs and improves outcomes. It’s not only about the capability, but the willingness to share data and work with various providers,” said Kevin Foley, President of NavigatorMD, Inc. “Doing what’s truly best for the customer will lead to better and more effective health plan management. To do that, employers need to find the right people to work with. We want to be one of those players that shares this philosophy, and NavigatorMD and eDoc4u prove that with our new offering.”
Both companies have invested in offering flexible, HIPAA/HITECH compliant platforms that can interface with various APIs and web services to securely share Protected Health Information (PHI). Similarly, the partnered companies can integrate an employer’s data within 60-90 days, ensuring that organizations can begin controlling healthcare costs as quickly as possible.
“We are very excited about our partnership with NavigatorMD,” said Richard Smith, President of eDoc4u. “Self-insured employers can proactively manage out-of-compliance cost drivers, increase compliance rates and create a healthier environment for their high risk members.”
Recent award recipient of Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX) Open App Challenge, eDoc4u offers a proprietary Personal Health Manager that automates health risk assessments pre-populated with claims, screening and biometric data. Employees receive measurements of their risks for preventable diseases, recommendations for preventing and managing chronic conditions, and personalized health programs with specific action plans. The overall results include lower health management costs, improved health outcomes, increased patient engagement, and a more productive employee population.
