Celera (NASDAQ:CRA) today announced the appointment of Scott K. Milsten as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, effective immediately. Mr. Milsten will report to Kathy Ordoñez, Celera’s Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Milsten was most recently Deputy General Counsel for Gen-Probe Incorporated (NASDAQ:GPRO). In this capacity, he managed corporate governance and securities compliance, and structured and negotiated strategic transactions. He also oversaw a variety of intellectual property and human resource matters. Prior to Gen-Probe, Mr. Milsten practiced corporate law with the law firm of Latham & Watkins LLP, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, proxy contests and securities offerings for life science and technology companies.
Mr. Milsten received his B.A. from Duke University, Durham, NC, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania, PA.
