SAN DIEGO – January 8, 2009 – DefenseWeb® Technologies, Inc., a premier custom software developer and systems integrator for U.S. Department of Defense and other federal government agencies, announced today its participation in the Department of Defense’s Uniformed Services Family Health Plan Information Technology program.
The company will act as a subcontractor to Apptis, Inc. for the $21 million contract to provide data processing services to the six designated health care providers under the plan.

Under the contract, DefenseWeb will host the beneficiary information portal; provide the tools for collecting monthly data from the designated health providers, and manage interfaces with the Defense Enrollment and Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS), the DoD system for determination of eligibility and payments for those entitled to military healthcare benefits including DoD’s TRICARE and TRICARE For Life, the health care programs serving eligible beneficiaries, to include military retirees, their families and survivors worldwide.
