MONTREAL -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- WhatsNexx, an emerging leader in cross-channel marketing automation software and services, today announced the nomination of its new CEO, Alan Shuster. Alain Paquin, founder and President, is maintaining his focus on R&D and the product roadmap.
Shuster was formerly Executive Vice President at Blast Radius, where he focused on North American client service and served as executive sponsor of several leading accounts including Bacardi, Novartis and Disney. Having held various positions during his 12 years at the agency, Alan possesses a unique experience that combines top class marketing and managerial skills.
Alan, who joined the WhatsNexx team last October when he was voted onto the Board of Directors, now assumes the executive role of overseeing all management and product development plans that support the strategic direction and vision of the company. “I am very excited to be part of WhatsNexx at this exceptional time in our industry and join a talented and committed team of marketing technology leaders” says Shuster. “We have an innovative product that is designed to answer the immediate needs of the industry as well as respond to consumer-driven expectations. To drive that growth, Alan brought Ben Watson on board as CMO. Watson, an experienced product marketer and marketing technologist, comes with 20 years of experience in customer experience, product and platform marketing. Formerly VP Marketing at Hootsuite, he built out both B2B and B2C marketing disciplines there to drive triple digit growth. He also served as Principal Customer Experience Strategist and Enterprise User Experience lead at Adobe Systems, served as Sr. Director of Product Strategy for Yahoo! Advertising products, and held software marketing roles at Microsoft working on MSN, .NET, Web Services standards, and other early-stage internet and digital technologies.

This announcement follows on the heels of the recent funding announcement from BDC, wherein WhatsNexx received an additional $2.33M in funding to help accelerate growth through sales and marketing.
As part of this change WhatsNexx will be expanding the teams into new regions and new verticals, and is now actively hiring in sales, marketing and R&D disciplines.
