AMSTERDAM -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Elasticsearch, the company behind the popular real-time search and analytics open source project, today announced the appointment of Kevin Kluge as vice president of engineering. Kevin has a history of leading engineering teams for companies that have changed the dynamics of their markets, including Citrix, Cloud.com and Zimbra. He will play a critical role in extending the value of Elasticsearch to the millions of people using the technology.
Prior to joining Elasticsearch, Kevin was the vice president of engineering at Citrix where he was responsible for managing the product testing and development of the Citrix CloudPlatform, powered by Apache CloudStack. Kluge joined Citrix following its acquisition of Cloud.com, where he was the vice president of engineering and led all of product development initiatives. Previously, he was the senior director of engineering for Zimbra while it was still owned by Yahoo!, where he helped establish it as the leading open source collaboration and email solution. Kevin has also held senior engineering positions at several start-ups as well as Sun Microsystems. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in computer science from Stanford University.
Kevin will play a key role in aligning the future product roadmap with specific customer requirements, and managing the engineering and development team to rapidly deliver products that meet customer needs.
