RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Samsung Electronics America, Inc., America’s fastest growing home appliance brand1, is proud to announce that it has received the industry-leading washer ranking in J.D. Power’s 2013 Laundry Appliance Satisfaction Study, the highest customer satisfaction recognition in the category for the fifth consecutive year. Samsung also is ranked No. 2 for the dryer category.
To arrive at the rankings, J.D. Power surveyed consumers who had purchased appliances in the past 24 months. Satisfaction is measured on a 1,000-point scale and is based on six factors: ease of use; features; performance and reliability; price; styling and appearance; and warranty. According to the study:
“Our goal is to create premium smart appliances that deliver the right mix of flexibility, performance and design that consumers love and want for their home. Receiving such high rankings in this year’s J.D. Power Laundry Appliance Satisfaction Study demonstrates that Samsung understands what families look for in their home appliances,” said Kevin Dexter, Senior Vice President of Home Appliance at Samsung Electronics America. “The continued recognition from J.D. Power and the ongoing support from our consumers is an absolute privilege; it pushes us to continue to deliver the technologies and features consumers want and need.”
Samsung’s 2013 home appliance lineup offers unsurpassed capacity and performance, and surprising functional features that delight consumers, particularly in the laundry space. The new 5.0 cu. ft. High Efficiency Top-Load Washer (WA50F) allows consumers to wash more in a single load than ever before with the industry’s largest capacity in its class. AquaJet™ Technology provides unrivaled washing performance, and Samsung’s innovative Smart Care technology allows consumers to troubleshoot and perform a quick diagnosis of their machine with the use of their smart phone. As a result, consumers can conveniently maintain their washer and reduce time lost waiting for a repair service.
In addition, the Samsung DV457 clothes dryer has been awarded the 2013 ENERGY STAR® Emerging Technology Award for advanced dryers. EPA’s ENERGY STAR program is the trusted source for energy-efficient product labeling and consumer education, and the award recognizes products that are at the forefront of energy conservation and climate protection. This marks the first time that a clothes dryer has received the honor. The Samsung DV457 uses up to 36 percent less energy than conventional models – which can translate to as much as $635 in electricity and 9,000 lbs of CO2 emissions saved over the life of the product. When combined with its matching clothes washer, the WF457, the Smart Grid-ready laundry pair can save up to $3,978 in lifetime energy savings, representing the most energy efficient laundry pair in the industry.
