“Jonathan is everything Foundation Capital looks for in a partner,” said Charles Moldow, general partner at Foundation Capital. “He has tremendous operating experience, a strong rapport with entrepreneurs and knows what it’s like to be on the front lines of the VC world. We couldn’t be more excited to have him find new projects and look forward to the immediate value he’ll provide to the founders and management teams at our portfolio companies.”
Jonathan has deep experience building fast-growing startups. During his time at Facebook, Ehrlich led the company’s consumer and brand marketing efforts. He was responsible for the Facebook Brand and led the team that built Global Brand programs like Facebook Stories and Facebook Voices. His team also drove partnerships and programs for Global events like the World Cup and Olympics, and provided launch marketing support for products like Facebook Questions and Facebook Places.
Prior to his career at Facebook, Ehrlich, a Canada native, was the executive vice president, online, at Indigo Books & Music, Canada’s largest book retailer, where he was responsible for building the online business from $40 million to more than $100 million.
Jonathan also co-founded Utah Street Labs and Mobshop, a pioneer in online commerce, and was also an EIR at Albright Ventures (now Relay Ventures).
“Having been on the other side of the table, I know the importance of an entrepreneur-friendly venture capital firm,” said Ehrlich. “Foundation Capital adds value to portfolio companies beyond just funding and that’s what really drew me to the firm.”
