MENLO PARK, Calif., Sept. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Prior to today, retailers and restaurant owners had a right to be skeptical of local search, real-time marketing and social media insights. "The 'likes' and 'check-ins' give merchants little information, and - in most cases - the data aren't valid," said Bobby Marhamat, Co-Founder of babberly.
Babberly's new merchant app, which was just released and is featured on iTunes, revolutionizes real-time advertising by aggregating everything that is local and social. "Whether it's a Facebook status update, tweet, Yelp review or a babberly conversation, babberly makes sense of it," said Co-Founder Ivan Turkovic. "Babberly presents that information in a clear, concise way so merchants understand what's happening and can target specific customers who are nearby," Turkovic added.
Authentic conversations among users and merchants are babberly's key ingredients. Users have the ability to ask questions and relay information to people who are checked-in at an establishment and search for local happenings via hashtags. Additionally, merchants can reach out to prospective customers and offer instant deals, which are delivered to the specific consumers via push notifications.
"What makes babberly special is its ability to create meaningful conversations that contain a wealth of information," Marhamat stated. "Babberly rewards users who are active members of its community." As a result, someone who posts a question, answer or tip receives ten babberCRED. After earning 2,500 babberCRED, the individual earns a $25 certificate, which can be redeemed at certain babberly merchants.
The new merchant application has two pricing options, both of which are discounted during babberly's launch. The basic plan, which regularly costs $9.99/month, is currently free. Basic subscribers have the ability to post offers and see standard reports.
The premium plan, which regularly costs $39/month, is currently $3/month. Premium babberly merchants are highlighted as "Feature Merchants," and customers can redeem babberCRED certificates at these locations. In addition, babberly analyzes local behaviors and provides premium merchants with in-depth reports for check-ins and deal redemptions. Premium merchants also have the ability to target offers to customers based on demographic (ex. male vs. female) and behavioral statistics (ex. special occasions, hobbies).
"The experts told us to let the big players like Facebook or Yelp fix local search," said Marhamat. "But consumers and marketers were tired of waiting."
Consequently, Marhamat and Turkovic took it upon themselves to revolutionize real-time advertising.
