BELLEVUE, Wash. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Nintex, the world leader in workflow software, today announced the appointment of industry veteran John Burton as Chief Executive Officer. Burton will join the proven Nintex executive team to lead the company’s continuing global expansion building upon its ongoing 45 percent compound annual growth rate and existing partnership channel of more than 1,000 firms worldwide.
“This is the next step to continue our strategy of building Nintex into the global leader we’ve always envisioned,” said Brian Cook, co-founder and executive chairman, Nintex. “With John joining our leadership team we’ve added proven expertise driving and managing worldwide rapid growth and leveraging strategic acquisitions for market expansion.”
Nintex is shaping the workflow space, delivering software and cloud services that empower organizations to automate everyday business processes quickly and easily. Its products are being used by more than 5,000 businesses in 90 countries around the world. Profitable since inception in January 2008, Nintex completed an investment from TA Associates and Updata Partners in March of this year to support the company’s global growth through both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions.
“I was drawn to Nintex and to working with Brian because it represents a combination of the best characteristics of all of my prior experiences – a team of winners, great vision and advanced technology,” noted Burton, CEO, Nintex. “As an investor, I’ve looked at dozens of great companies, but have never seen such high-impact, rapid ROI technology delivered on-premise or as a cloud service; Nintex delivers on what it says, ‘workflow for everyone’.”
Immediately prior to joining Nintex, John was a general partner and co-founder of Updata Partners, a $500 million technology growth equity fund. He led highly successful investments in firms in several software and digital sectors and worked closely with the management teams in building sustaining market leaders. In prior operating roles, he served as Chairman of Numara, a $100 million service IT management solutions firm, acquired by BMC Software in 2012; CEO of LEGENT Corporation, a market leading public firm that grew from $100 million to more than $500 million during his five-year tenure exiting in a cash transaction nearing $2 billion. Earlier, Burton had co-founded BST, Inc. and led the company to 50 percent CAGR from its bootstrapped origins to the sector leader working with many industry-leading partners culminating in a highly successful combination with LEGENT Corporation, where he became the CEO.
