NEW YORK -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Engadget Expand, a bi-annual event designed for gadget lovers, is bringing the newest consumer electronics and most buzzed-about tech luminaries to New York City for the first time this fall, and today announces a final call for submissions to the Insert Coin: New Challengers inventor competition.
Insert Coin brings Engadget’s series about noteworthy, crowd-funded hardware to life with an onstage battle for the best new inventions. At the inaugural Insert Coin: New Challengers competition at Expand San Francisco, Ziphius won both the Readers’ Choice and Grand Prize awards and took home a grand total of $25,000.
Engadget editors, readers and a panel of experts will judge submissions, which must be entirely new projects, according to innovativeness, design, functionality, overall quality and market relevance. Winners will be announced and prizes granted according to the following schedule:
