ORCHARD PARK, N.Y., Oct. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Accipiter Radar Technologies, Inc., a U.S. and Canadian-based radar systems company, announced that they were part of a winning team securing a fixed-price contract worth up to one hundred million dollars ($100,000,000) for the delivery of Ultra-Light Aircraft Detection Systems to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Technology Innovation and Acquisition.
Accipiter Radar, working with prime contractor Global Technical Systems (GTS) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, will provide the high performance and sensor information networks designed to detect, track, and characterize targets such as small vessels, low flying aircraft, and birds.
The contract includes a two-year base period and up to eight one-year options. The $100,000,000 value of the contract would be reached if the total contract is exercised.
Much of the work associated with this contract will be handled by Accipiter's Orchard Park, New York facility.
