LONG BEACH, Calif. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Jeda Networks (www.jedanetworks.com) today announced a joint effort with Mellanox to integrate its Software Defined Storage Networking™ technology and Mellanox Scale-Out Ethernet switches with a demonstration at Storage Networking World 2013. Both companies will show organizations how they can deploy a Software Defined SAN (Storage Area Network) for less than half the cost of other high-performance SAN solutions. In addition to the cost savings, Jeda Networks will demonstrate how their flagship Fabric Network Controller (FNC) Software applies Software Defined Networking (SDN) technology to solve the complexity and scalability inherent in many of today’s storage networks.
“We are excited to add Mellanox to the group of vendors we are working with to show organizations with high-performance application storage requirements such as VDI, high resolution video editing, data mining and traditional data base applications, the numerous benefits from using the first software defined SAN solution on the market today,” said Stuart Berman, Founder and CEO, Jeda Networks. “By integrating our FNC software with Mellanox switches, network and storage administrators will see how next generation virtual SANs lower the cost and complexity of storage networks without compromising performance.”
“By eliminating Fibre Channel SANs and converging storage over Ethernet, network and storage administrators can significantly reduce their network infrastructure and associated costs required to deploy and manage the SAN,” said John Kim, director of storage marketing at Mellanox Technologies. “The combination of Mellanox’s performance-leading Ethernet switches and Jeda’s FNC Software delivers IT administrators with the highest performance storage networking capabilities, extreme flexibility, agility, and reduced network and storage complexity.”
The Jeda Networks FNC software with Mellanox high performance Ethernet switches virtual SAN demonstration will be held at their booth (#400).
Jeda is the first company to take a pure software approach, applying Software Defined Networks (SDN) technology, to address current limitations inherent in today’s storage networks. It significantly changes the adaptability of current storage networks to readily adjust to the exponential growth of applications that the networks support. Recently, Jeda Networks was named one of the “10 Software Defined Networking Startups to Watch” by CIO Magazine.
