AUSTIN, Texas -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Querium Corporation announced today the addition of Dr. Jamo Rubin to its Board of Directors. Dr. Rubin is founder and CEO of TAV Health, a San Antonio-based organization that provides tools and services to its members to help them navigate the healthcare system. He previously founded healthcare software companies Medical Present Value and PTRX, both of which were acquired in 2011.
“I’m excited to have Jamo on our board of directors,” said Kent Fuka, CEO and founder of Querium. “He has experience in building a successful business that uses artificial intelligence techniques to solve critical business problems, and he’s a seasoned entrepreneur. He’s also passionate about improving the quality of education in Texas.”
Dr. Rubin joins Querium not only as a Board member, but also as an investor. “With 70% of incoming community college students in Texas being deemed not college ready and then 40% of them dropping out after the first year, the entire Texas community has a stake in turning around this trend,” said Rubin. “Querium’s impressive management team with its sophisticated technology and clear understanding of today’s student is focused squarely on solving this problem.”
Querium has demonstrated strong traction in the market through the adoption by 12 Texas colleges and universities of its first offering, an Online Pre-Assessment Activity created to educate incoming college students about the new, state-mandated placement test, the TSI Assessment. Querium is currently developing an adaptive learning program which will enable prospective Texas college students to prepare for the new test.
