BLUE BELL, Pa., Oct. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MEN Micro Inc., a world-renowned provider of embedded computing and I/O solutions for mission-critical industrial, mobile and harsh environment applications, now offers the DC13, a rugged display computer for demanding railway environments. The fanless panel PC is maintenance-free for reliable operation in harsh conditions.
The front of the compact DC13 features an 8.4" LCD screen with an 800 x 600 pixel resolution and 20 backlit keys with tactile feedback, making the display computer ideal for enhanced HMI (human-machine interface) in railway applications. Specific uses include monitoring and displaying train functions, speed optimization and fleet management.
Controlled by a low power Intel Atom E620T processor running at 0.6 GHz, the panel PC consumes only 13 W, while operating reliably in an extended temperature range of -30 degrees C to +85 degrees C. The soldered electronic components easily withstand shock and vibration levels typically found in demanding railway environments, and the rugged, slim-profile housing is IP65-compliant.
The DC13, an extension to the company's broad line of rugged panel PCs, can be customized with screen sizes from 7" to 15" as well as with larger memory arrays or other Intel Atom processors, depending on user requirements.
Standard interfaces include a Fast Ethernet port accessible via an M12 connector for Power over Ethernet (PoE), Class 0 as well as a Type A USB 2.0 port. System memory includes 512 MB of soldered DDR2 SDRAM as well as a microSD slot and a 4 GB SATA disk.
-- 8.4" 4:3 TFT LCD display: 800 x 600 pixels -- Dimensions: 9.6" x 7.8" x 2.0" (245 mm x 200 mm x 50 mm) -- Power consumption of less than 13 W -- Fanless and maintenance-free -- Compliant with IP65 and EN 50155, class Tx (railway)
