BOSTON -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Markley Group, one of the most secure and advanced data centers in America, announced today that it has named Patrick Gilmore its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). At Markley Group, he will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of the company’s state-of-the-art technology foundation, while working to ensure that Markley Group consistently remains a leading-edge technology provider.
Gilmore was most recently Akamai Technologies’ network architect, responsible for managing peering and capacity for the world’s largest CDN – one that served approximately 20% of all traffic on the internet. Gilmore’s career at Akamai spanned more than a decade.
“Patrick Gilmore’s years of experience will help Markley Group continue to offer our customers the strongest and highest value data center experience available today. We are thrilled to welcome him to Markley,” said Jeffrey D. Markley, CEO of Markley Group. “We look forward to tapping into his knowledge to further extend the ways we provide constant uptime, fast access and strong information protection.”
In his new role, Gilmore will draw upon his considerable industry expertise to develop strategic technology plans for Markley Group, including additional product and service offerings and the potential expansion to additional locations that will help extend the company’s reach and enhance business continuity options for customers.
Gilmore has also held management and architecture positions at Onyx Networks, Concentric Networks and Priori Networks, working on both national and international backbones for those companies. He is also very well-regarded in the peering community, serving on the Board of Directors for both the Seattle Internet Exchange and the London Internet Exchange, two of the largest internet exchanges in the world.
Markley Group’s multi-tenant, world-class data center offers customers a number of build-out options for their IT infrastructure, including high-density applications, redundant cooling, customizable suite and cage designs and tailored security levels. Colocation customers save on upfront capital costs, take advantage of strong security and uptime guarantees, benefit from the latest technologies and can quickly and easily expand their data center footprint as needed.
